Through becoming GEO Certified we have achieved the most widely regarded and credible sustainability distinction in golf. The international certification was earned after successfully meeting the industry-standard best practices and demonstrating our commitment to make sustainability of central importance to our golf facility. We're proud of our social and environmental value - and looking forward to doing even more on our sustainability journey.

Woburn Golf club is doing much more than just striving to achieve certification. It is a club that is truly an exemplar to any golf club embarking on or developing their sustainability journey. The individual golf holes fit within the much larger woodland estate, which forms an ever-present element of each course. The club have worked to reduce the amenity footprint and are very aware of the biodiversity and landscape interests on site. Moreover, the club recognise the value of the place for health and wellbeing, and this is an important element of the club’s ongoing communications with members. The club sees sustainability in all its forms as integral and totally essential within the business model employed. It is something that is being expected and here is delivered. One of the unique features at this club is the newly updated induction kitchens which although expensive to install significantly reduce stress and particularly heat stress on the chef and his team. The kitchen uses far less energy and is a major talking point at the club. This and other initiatives are helping to spread the word here and beyond the club that sustainability matters.
