Notable Observations

  • Wildlife Survey and Species Recording A detailed bird survey was conducted in 2025, documenting species present across the course. This complements an existing property map that records all tree species on site.
  • Protection of Vulnerable Otter Population The smooth-coated otter, listed as a vulnerable and protected species, has been identified on site. Staff are aware of legal protections, including restrictions on tree management along waterways.
  • Installation of Bird Nesting Boxes Bird boxes are being installed across the property to encourage nesting and breeding. This forms part of ongoing efforts to support local bird populations.
  • Large-Scale Solar Energy Generation A significant solar installation is in place across the property. Approximately 32% of the club’s total energy consumption is supplied by on-site solar.
  • Closed-Loop Washdown and Wastewater Control Machinery washing and chemical handling take place on concrete surfaces with isolated drainage. Water flows into a storage system where it can be safely managed and removed.
  • Data-Tracked Water and Energy Use Monthly internal audits are carried out using sub-meters across different outlets. Utility bills and tracking reports are used to monitor both water and energy consumption.
  • Structured School Golf Engagement The club partners with Angsana Primary School, hosting visits where students take part in golf lessons with club coaches. This forms part of a wider outreach programme.
  • High Proportion of Charity Golf Events Around 40% of corporate golf days hosted at the club support charitable causes. These include organisations such as Fathers of Singapore and Children in Need.
“

“The Tampines course at Tanah Merah Country Club is an impressive facility that is maintained to a very high standard. The front and back of house facilities accommodate everything that the staff and guests need, and the smooth-running operation complements the exceptional leadership in place. The huge solar installation that was installed since my last visit is very impressive. I look forward to seeing the continued results of their sustainability initiatives.”
