We are committed to social and environmental responsibility, in and through golf.

We recognize the importance of playing our part to protect and restore nature, conserve resources, take climate action and strengthen communities.

We will seek to use our reach to raise awareness and positive action amongst golfers, partners and the wider public.

GEO Certified

Through becoming GEO Certified we have achieved the most widely regarded and credible sustainability distinction in golf.  The international certification was earned after successfully meeting the industry-standard best practices and demonstrating our commitment to make sustainability of central importance to our golf facility.  We're proud of our social and environmental value - and looking forward to doing even more on our sustainability journey.

Notable Observations

  • Mangrove Habitat and Coral Monitoring A unique coastal mangrove habitat exists on site, including mangrove species not found elsewhere in the country. An intertidal survey completed in 2023 identified coral and other marine species, with findings shared publicly.
  • Shoreline Stabilisation Supporting Coral A stonewall has been constructed along coastal areas of the course. This has reduced sediment movement and coincided with an increase in endemic coral populations.
  • Native Bee Colonies and Habitat Features Native bee colonies have been established in two locations, with plans for expansion. Bird nesting boxes have also been installed as part of a programme developed with local schools.
  • Turf Reduction Through Course Redesign As part of a redesign, fairway areas have been reduced by approximately 30%. Areas for further naturalisation have been identified and discussed during the verification visit.
  • Advanced Soil Moisture Monitoring Systems Soil Scout sensors are installed to monitor moisture trends following irrigation and rainfall. These are used alongside TDR and USGA portable probes to adjust irrigation practices.
  • On Site Food Waste Composting System Food waste is processed using an on-site composting machine. The resulting compost is used within landscape areas around the property.
  • University and Research Collaboration Students and university professors regularly access the course to study its habitats and environment. The site is used as a platform for ecological observation and learning.
  • Island Wide Sustainability Leadership The club has contributed to the development of a wider “One Sentosa” sustainability initiative. This includes the creation of a sustainability board covering the whole island.
