We are committed to social and environmental responsibility, in and through golf.

We recognize the importance of playing our part to protect and restore nature, conserve resources, take climate action and strengthen communities.

We will seek to use our reach to raise awareness and positive action amongst golfers, partners and the wider public.

We will make an important difference, and help golf become a valued leader in sustainability.

GEO Certified

Through becoming GEO Certified we have achieved the most widely regarded and credible sustainability distinction in golf.  The international certification was earned after successfully meeting the industry-standard best practices and demonstrating our commitment to make sustainability of central importance to our golf facility.  We're proud of our social and environmental value - and looking forward to doing even more on our sustainability journey.

Notable Observations

  • Habitat-Rich Landscape The course features heath pine forests, oak pastures, sandy ground, and wildflower meadows—mimicking old small-scale farming landscapes and supporting rare insects and birds.
  • Active Biodiversity Management New sandy areas and flower meadows support pollinators like endangered bees. Deadwood is preserved, bird boxes are installed, and native trees are now prioritised.
  • Bird Monitoring for Action A detailed 2024 bird survey revealed species trends and red-list occurrences. This data will inform future habitat planning and management.
  • Zero Pesticide Course The entire course is managed without pesticides due to its location over a water source protection zone—driving innovation in natural disease control.
  • Smart Irrigation Greens use soil moisture meters and precision sprinklers. A new Rainbird system optimises irrigation, and a new water reservoir is being developed to boost self-sufficiency
  • Electric Solutions All golf carts are electric. LEDs, air-source heat pumps, and robotic mowers cut energy use. The club now runs entirely on renewable electricity.
  • Free Golf for Students Local high school students receive a free green card to access golf and earn an official handicap, encouraging youth participation.
  • Strong Volunteer Culture The “Thursday group” of 12 volunteers maintains the course weekly—building community spirit and supporting course quality through shared effort.

Considerable financial resources have been invested in the rebuilding and development of properties and training facilities in the clubhouse area in recent years.
