We are committed to social and environmental responsibility, in and through golf.

We recognize the importance of playing our part to protect and restore nature, conserve resources, take climate action and strengthen communities.

GEO Certified

Through becoming GEO Certified we have achieved the most widely regarded and credible sustainability distinction in golf.  The international certification was earned after successfully meeting the industry-standard best practices and demonstrating our commitment to make sustainability of central importance to our golf facility.  We're proud of our social and environmental value - and looking forward to doing even more on our sustainability journey.

Notable Observations

  • 2026 Bird Survey: A new bird survey recorded species observed on the course and documented habitats and flora that support wildlife. Lundin also sits beside the Firth of Forth SPA and SSSI, designated for bird species of European importance.
  • Natural-Style Bunkers: Ten natural-style bunkers have been introduced through a four-year improvement programme. This has reduced maintenance, labour and fuel/emissions alongside improved aesthetics and playability.
  • New Sand Scrape Habitats: Sand scrapes have been created following sand extraction for construction works. As marram grass re-establishes, these areas are expected to support invertebrates, reptiles, amphibians, ground-nesting birds and specialist flora.
  • Precision Irrigation: An irrigation audit has been used to optimise the system and watering schedules, supported by POGO soil-moisture monitoring. Sprinkler settings are also adjusted to improve coverage and reduce overwatering.
  • Electric Machinery Transition: Electric equipment now includes ride-on mowers, a utility vehicle, course buggy and several handheld tools. This transition contributed to an approximately 30% reduction in diesel use from 2024 to 2025.
  • Solar PV Generation: Solar panels on the clubhouse and pro shop roofs generate just under 15,000 kWh of electricity annually. The club is considering expanding its solar installations in future.
  • Fife Coastal Path Access: The course connects with the Fife Coastal Path and contains an old railway path from the historic Fife Coast Railway. Walking, cycling and horse riding are encouraged, with the routes maintained and signposted alongside Fife Coast and Countryside Trust.
  • £7,000 for 40 Charities: Charity golf days supported around 40 charities and raised approximately £7,000 in 2025, including support for health-related causes such as the British Heart Foundation. The club also provides four-ball and tee-time donations where possible.
