We are committed to social and environmental responsibility, in and through golf.

We recognize the importance of playing our part to protect and restore nature, conserve resources, take climate action and strengthen communities.

We will seek to use our reach to raise awareness and positive action amongst golfers, partners and the wider public.

GEO Certified

Through becoming GEO Certified we have achieved the most widely regarded and credible sustainability distinction in golf.  The international certification was earned after successfully meeting the industry-standard best practices and demonstrating our commitment to make sustainability of central importance to our golf facility.  We're proud of our social and environmental value - and looking forward to doing even more on our sustainability journey.

Notable Observations

  • Wildflower Meadows & Naturalised Habitats: The club has transformed large areas into unfertilised wildflower meadows and naturalised roughs, offering significant refuge for native species and pollinators while enhancing course character.
  • Low-Input Greens & Species Transitioning: A successful reduction in fungicide applications—from 10 to just 1 per green each year —has been achieved through turf transitioning to bentgrass and fescue, along with precision nutrient management.
  • High-Efficiency Irrigation System: Fairways were irrigated just twice in the last season thanks to moisture sensors, a responsive central control system, and a long-term shift toward drought-tolerant turf species.
  • Waste Circularity with Local Farmers: All green waste is composted and returned to neighbouring farms, while wood from felled trees is earmarked for ecological structures or repurposing—closing material loops beyond the club.
  • Popular Guided Sustainability Tours: The club runs guided tours for members and guests, showcasing behind-the-scenes sustainability efforts—connecting people to nature and strengthening transparency and trust.
  • Youth Program & School Engagement: With 80 juniors in regular training and close collaboration with local schools, the club plays an active role in developing young golfers and promoting access to the sport.
  • Integrated Public Use & Accessibility: Public walking paths run directly through the course, maintaining access to nature for the broader community
  • Annual Greenkeepers’ Day for Member Education: Organised entirely by the course team, this event invites members behind the scenes to learn about course management, water use, and biodiversity, fostering appreciation and dialogue.
