We are committed to social and environmental responsibility, in and through golf.

We recognize the importance of playing our part to protect and restore nature, conserve resources, take climate action and strengthen communities.

Through becoming GEO Certified we have achieved the most widely regarded and credible sustainability distinction in golf.  The international certification was earned after successfully meeting the industry-standard best practices and demonstrating our commitment to make sustainability of central importance to our golf facility.  We're proud of our social and environmental value - and looking forward to doing even more on our sustainability journey.

Notable Observations

  • Biodiversity Enhancements: Collaboration with North Wales Wildlife Trust (NWWT) has led to the development of long grass meadows, tree management programmes, bird boxes, and bug hotels. The club also manages ponds to support microhabitats and biodiversity​.
  • Conservation Practices: Practical efforts include the establishment of a tree nursery, wildflower planting, bracken removal for bluebell habitats, and the addition of beehives to boost pollinator populations.
  • Water Conservation: The club implemented a water-saving project funded by a Sport Wales grant, incorporating rainwater harvesting, a portable water bowser for irrigation, and plans for a borehole to reduce reliance on mains water​.
  • Energy Efficiency: Initiatives include the installation of solar panels, LED lighting, and energy-efficient systems in the clubhouse and maintenance facility. The club also tracks energy use through audits​.
  • Charity Support: The club supports multiple charities, including Ty Gobiath hospice, Macmillan Nurses, and Blind Veterans UK. Activities include fundraising events and providing golf experiences for veterans and carers​.
  • Community Integration: Land donation to Sustrans for a community cycle track demonstrates the club’s commitment to enhancing local recreational opportunities and promoting active transportation.
