“Linköpings Golf Club is important as green infrastructure in an urban environment. In recent years, it has secured its long-term operations with a new lease contract, enabled a new clubhouse, and assembled a dedicated management team for sustainability. The club has invested considerable resources in the social areas, such as a new clubhouse, digital indoor and outdoor equipment that stimulates play and training all year round, and technical investments in new water pumps and robotic mowers/ball pickers. Planning and activities are underway to replace the municipally purified drinking water currently used for irrigation with water of lower quality, such as surface and groundwater, as well as stormwater. It is a big and important sustainability challenge for the club that takes time and resources, and I look forward to seeing the result. The club has positive sustainability ambitions for the future. It needs to create good routines and channels to communicate its sustainability work to engage members and business partners to be part of this future journey.”
