We will make an important difference, and help golf become a valued leader in sustainability.

Notable observations

  • Biodiversity Monitoring and Management: The club has implemented environmental impact assessments and biodiversity surveys (e.g., in 2013 and 2021). These efforts ensure compliance with cantonal requirements for extensive meadows and promote biodiversity conservation on-site.
  • Red List Species Conservation: The site contains habitats for Red List species, including valuable bodies of water, meadows, and forests.
  • Youth Engagement: The club has an active program with around 50 junior members participating in golf activities. This supports the development of young players and promotes inclusivity.
  • Sustainability Communication: The club employs various communication methods to raise awareness about sustainability among members and visitors.

The Hittnau Golf Club is situated in a unique landscape in which it is respectfully integrated. It is run in an absolutely professional manner and in compliance with the applicable laws. Biodiversity can still be promoted without any negative impact on the game. The adjustments are likely to be cost-neutral in terms of maintenance. At most, they require increased staff sensitivity, for which training and professional project support from specialists are recommended. There is similar potential in the area of resource management. With greater data, more concrete targets can be set into the future.
