2024, for renewal 2027
Laguna Vilamoura Golf Course has made significant strides in its environmental initiatives. Notably, the course renovated its irrigation system, achieving a 20% reduction in water consumption. The transition to Bermuda grass for tees, fairways, and greens further optimized water usage and reduced chemical dependency. A key feature of the course's environmental strategy is its lakes management, which plays a vital role in supporting local wildlife. The creation of protected habitats within these lakes enhances the preservation of local avifauna. This careful balance between water management and biodiversity demonstrates the course's commitment to protecting the region's ecosystems. I am looking forward to the insights that future fauna surveys will provide, as they will offer a deeper understanding of the biodiversity and ecological dynamics within the area.
