Coventry Golf Club is proud of our longstanding partnership with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust (WWT). We have worked together to improve habitat for otters along the River Sowe by creating an otter holt in a disused former irrigation control house.
WWT provided the design, Coventry Golf Club provided materials and ensured the holt was well-camouflaged. An infrared camera was installed inside the holt and within a short period of time otters and other species of mammals including badgers, water shrew, muntjack and roe deer were seen. WWT download and edit images from the camera and provide a video of mammals and birds captured inside and in the vicinity of the otter holt. This is circulated to members of Coventry Golf Club and results in lots of positive feedback.
