Wildflowers on the greens

Corica Park

United States

10% of Corica Park's total property, equivalent to 30 acres, is dedicated to green spaces that are not used for play but rather serve as vital areas for native plant growth. As part of our commitment to responsible environmental stewardship, we are activating and nurturing these critical green spaces to promote biodiversity.

In September, we hosted a fun educational event with Pollinator Posse, a nonprofit dedicated to creating spaces for pollinators in Northern California. As part of the event, our Sundays On The Green youth program learned about the critical role of pollinators and hit clay balls filled with wildflower seeds off the Par-3 course first tee into a newly created protected habitat.

Our crew and junior golfers will observe and monitor the pollinator garden through the winter and the blooms should emerge in the spring. We cannot wait to see the fruits of their labor! A huge thank you to Pollinator Posse for teaching us about creative ways golf courses can engage communities in efforts to support our ecosystem.
