At Hirsala Golf Club, water stewardship is a cornerstone of our sustainability strategy. To further secure our resources and protect the environment, we have expanded our irrigation pond by 3,000 m³, increasing our total water storage capacity by 10%. This substantial enhancement enables us to capture and store even more water directly from our natural surroundings.
All water runoff—whether from melting snow, seasonal icemelt, or rainfall—is thoughtfully collected and diverted into our enlarged irrigation pond. This closed-loop system ensures that every drop of water is put to good use, making Hirsala Golf Club fully self-reliant for all its irrigation needs throughout the year. By harnessing only naturally available water and eliminating any reliance on external water supplies, we not only safeguard the course during dry spells but also reduce our environmental footprint and protect local water resources.
This approach exemplifies responsible land management and sets a benchmark for sustainable practices in the golf industry.
