In 2023, we developed a Water Management Plan. As a golf club, we aim to ensure the course remains in optimal playing condition despite anticipated climate change. This requires sustainable water management based on a closed water balance, through which we intend to limit water use for the course, the clubhouse, and our equipment. The Plan outlines various measures for sustainable water management. In addition, a contingency plan has been drawn up to ensure an appropriate response during periods of extreme drought. These plans have been shared and discussed with our members and the Drents Overijsselse Delta Water Board. Over the past two years, we have implemented measures to improve water retention during wet periods. We are also managing water use on the course more efficiently. Groundwater monitoring points have been installed at 3 holes on the course to track water levels. Data from these is used to adjust the timing and volume of irrigation water use.
