The Tree Vinegar Pest Management Initiative demonstrates an innovative approach to sustainable resource use by transforming fallen trees from the property into a natural pest management solution.
Tree vinegar is produced through the carbonisation of wood and contains naturally occurring compounds that can be used as an alternative to conventional chemical-based products in certain pest management applications. By making productive use of timber generated through routine course management, the club reduces waste while creating a valuable, nature-based resource.
The initiative supports the club’s commitment to minimising unnecessary chemical inputs and promoting environmentally responsible course management. By exploring natural alternatives where appropriate, the club aims to protect surrounding habitats while maintaining healthy landscapes.
Beyond its practical application, the project demonstrates how materials that might otherwise be treated as waste can be repurposed into useful products, reflecting the club’s commitment to circular economy principles, resource efficiency, and environmental stewardship.
