This year, Royal Dublin partnered with a local recycling company to vastly reduce the clubs waste, towards a more circular economy. Firstly, the entire club was surveyed and recommendations were made that would reduce waste. Staff were then trained in how to properly discard of different waste types, then customised bins were installed throughout the club.
All organic waste is composted and either returned to the club or sent for agricultural use. Recycling is shipped off to recycling plant, and all general waste (which has been reduced) is sent to a concrete factory instead of landfill. We plan to review changes quarterly and to show our results to membership.
