Nevill’s Sustainability Sub-Committee established a new club competition in 2023, the Woodland Cup, to promote sustainability to members. The competition was held in a cross country format in October, during national Sustainability week.
The focus was to showcase the more remote parts of the course to participants but with a competitive edge. It was followed by a presentation of Nevill’s sustainability plan and current progress to members. The Woodland Cup trophy was carved out of sustainably sourced wood and the winners received the first jars of honey from Nevill’s new bee colony.
Surplus funds from the competition went towards buying new trees for planting on the course.
