Minthis landscape architects and horticulturists created a holistic concept for the Resort that includes a refined plant selection for the golf course. All plants in landscaped areas have been selected to attract bees, for their drought tolerance and disease resistance, low maintenance and low demand in extra nutrients and last but not least, for their beautiful smells.
Four years after planting a carefully selected variety of native plants and herbs around the new Par 3, golfers can enjoy a short challenging hole surrounded by a plethora of mouthwatering scents. Especially the aromas of the curry plant or Everlasting, Helichrysum italicum, and sweet marjoram, Origanum majorana, might make the mind wander off to the 19th hole, with dreams of delicious food!
An abundance of sage, Salvia officinalis, and rosemary, Rosmarinus officinalis and Rosmarinus officinalis prostrates, encircle many tees. And as you reach the 14th, take time to smell the thyme, Thymus capitatus. The mesmerizing scent of the Damask Rose, Rosa damascena, can be sensed around numerous holes and Lavender, Lavandula angustifolia, might be just what you need when the game doesn’t go as planned!
