We have a well-established set of Zeon Zoysia fairways, which require very little fertilizer and have very low levels of disease present, mainly we think due to the density of the sward. The grass is well suited to this climate and was grown in an onsite nursery prior to operations – making this even better adapted to the microclimate of Hoiana Shores. We prefer the cultural practices of dew sweeping, verti-cutting and solid tining to maintain the health of the turf while slowly controlling OM build up in our sandy soils. As a result of this well suited turf type we only mow our fairways once a week which helps us make savings on diesel use.
