Mit Eichen vom Waldrevier Zürich und der guten Zusammenarbeit mit dem zuständigen Forstwart der Stadt Zürich konnte der Abschlag 9 mit einem Holzverbau gesichert werden. Die Bäume mussten aufgrund der Waldpflege vom Förster gefällt werden und wurde dem Golfclub zur Verfügung gestellt. Die alten Eichen, sind hart und wetterbeständig und dienen somit sehr gut für eine Hangsicherung.

By utilising oaks sourced from the Zurich forest district and fostering a positive collaboration with the responsible forest warden of the city of Zurich, Golf Club Capelle successfully reinforced tee 9 with a wooden shoring. These trees were carefully selected and felled as part of necessary forest maintenance, and their availability was graciously extended to the golf club.
By repurposing these trees instead of discarding them, we make the most of existing resources and reduce the need for new materials. This approach not only conserves natural resources but also helps lock in carbon, helping mitigate climate change. Additionally, the hardness and weather resistance of old oaks make them ideal for slope stability and erosion control. By integrating wood elements into the landscape, we also help create a visually appealing and naturalistic environment.
