As part of the construction of the new greenkeeping facility and the redesigned club entrance, careful consideration was given to the management of stormwater runoff. To minimise the risk of local flooding and protect surrounding watercourses, a large soakaway system was incorporated into the design.
Extensive testing was undertaken to ensure the system could accommodate anticipated stormwater volumes. The completed soakaway measures 40 metres in length, 3 metres in depth, and 2 metres in width, providing substantial capacity to capture and naturally infiltrate surface water into the ground.
By integrating sustainable drainage infrastructure into the development, the project improves resilience to heavy rainfall, reduces pressure on local drainage networks, and supports responsible water management across the site.
