Pursuing its third consecutive GEO Certification, LIV Golf Adelaide delivered a range of measurable environmental and social outcomes.
Key environmental achievements included the implementation of a closed-loop waste management system, with 96% of event branding produced from biodegradable materials and the elimination of nearly 52,000 plastic bottles through the provision of 26,000 litres of water refills. Renewable energy was integrated across the event through the use of 20 on-course solar towers, while low-emission transport was promoted via complimentary fan shuttle buses and a player vehicle fleet supplied by BYD, comprising one fully electric vehicle and 54 hybrids.
The event also generated a strong social legacy, with a particular focus on growing the game and promoting community inclusion. More than 70 children from across South Australia participated in an on-site golf clinic and educational nature walk at The Grange Golf Club.
Demonstrating a commitment to accessibility and circularity, 17 tonnes of tournament carpet were donated to local housing developments, while an all-abilities golf event was hosted following the tournament to support pathways towards golf’s inclusion in the Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games.
Together, these initiatives highlight LIV Golf Adelaide’s commitment to delivering positive environmental and social impacts both during and beyond tournament week.
