The Great British Bee holds a critical role within British agriculture, serving as a pivotal pollinator for a third of our food supply and contributing significantly to the planet's ecosystem. Unfortunately, bees are facing a decline; in the UK, a staggering 97% of wildflower meadows have vanished since 1945. This situation underlines the importance of our individual contributions.
Bees exhibit a particular affinity for the colour purple, which they perceive more distinctly than other hues. Our lavender and alliums are well suited for their preferences. Lavender stands as a beloved choice among bees, as do all entities within the purple colour spectrum. Notably, bees possess the ability to detect ultraviolet rays emitted by these petals when illuminated by the sun.
