As part of our ongoing maintenance to the native vegetation on the golf course we have teamed up with a local farmer who utilizes our harvested Camel Foot Creeper (Ipomoea pes-caprae) as a source of food for his camels. Prior arrangements are made with the farmer and he collects our green waste shortly after harvesting so he can deliver to his livestock in a timely manner.
In an environment where sourcing a natural vegetation as a food source for camels and goats is extremely rare and difficult to cultivate, this arrangement is beneficial to both parties as Al Mouj Golf would have had to dispose of this waste in a local landfill at a cost, whilst the farmer and his camels are provided with fresh and free natural feed.
