In December 2022, we installed 52 Solar Panels on the roofs of our clubhouse and Proshop, designed to produce 20Mwh per annum and now producing around 25% of our electricity usage at the club, with a reduction in Carbon Emissions of 1.62 tonnesCO2e.
The initial investment was originally designed to have a payback of period of 13 years, but with recent fluctuations in electricity unit costs, this is likely to be considerably less. We are currently examining how excess power can be returned to the grid to help fund additional initiatives!
