To mark Sustainable Golf Week, Hayling Golf Club (HGC) hosted an exciting Cross Country Golf competition, offering players a completely new perspective by playing the course in reverse! With 130 participants signed up, each received a box of bamboo tees as part of their entry.
The Greens team worked tirelessly to design a safe route for this event. The competition began just short of the 18th green, which served as the starting tee area, with players navigating the course in reverse. This creative approach not only added a fun twist to the game but also raised awareness of the course's diverse features and stunning natural beauty.
Lady Captain Angela Wyer, who has been fundraising for sustainability initiatives at Hayling Golf Club throughout the year, saw this event as a fitting finale to her efforts. The competition was a celebration of sustainability, community, and the joy of golf, all wrapped into one memorable day.
