Since 2017 the Professional Team at Royal Troon have been on a journey to inspire children to take up the game of golf by performing golf sessions during school hours at all the 7 local schools in the Troon area.
This resulted in over 700 hours of voluntary work being performed and golf being introduced to over 5000 children aged between 5 – 11. We now have over 100 children between the age of 5-12 whom regularly attend golf sessions or play every week.
Each of the last three winters from 2021 - 2024 the PGA Pros have completed sessions in around 30 schools (Including the 7 local Troon schools) resulting in over 12,000 children receiving coaching each year.
