Dun Laoghaire Golf Club has been generating renewable energy on-site since the installation of a 125 kWp solar PV system five years ago. This system has consistently delivered strong performance, significantly reducing grid reliance and lowering the Club’s carbon footprint across clubhouse operations. The success of this initial investment has provided both environmental and operational benefits demonstrating clear energy savings, improved efficiency, and resilience against rising energy costs. It has also reinforced the value of long-term, sustainable infrastructure planning. Building on this proven model, the Club is now assessing plans to substantially expand its solar capacity, forming a central part of our broader transition away from fossil fuels and towards cleaner, self-generated energy. This continued investment reflects a structured, forward-looking approach to sustainability, aligned with Golf Ireland environmental objectives and our ongoing work towards GEO certification.
