Kinsale Golf Club is currently trialling the use of robotic mowers to help maintain its fairways. In addition to eliminating significant amounts of fossil fuels used by tractors and mowers and replacing it with green electricity generated by its own Solar Panel array, further environmental benefits include reduced soil compaction, recycling mulch clippings nutrients directly onto the fairways and less noise pollution.
