In autumn 2023, Hørsholm Golf invested in 14 mowing robots and two ball-collecting robots from Bell Robotic, cutting diesel consumption by 50%, with further savings expected by 2025 as new mowing lines are optimized. This switch saved up to 1.8 million DKK in equipment costs compared to replacing old mowers and reduced expenses on spare parts like bottom knives and cylinders.
Today, robots handle 100% of fairways and 70-80% of semi-rough areas, with coverage expected to reach 90% by 2025. Monitoring throughout 2024 revealed improved mowing quality, resulting in denser turf, fewer clippings, and better ball lay-up.
This innovation has allowed greenkeepers to focus on other tasks, raising overall course standards without reducing staff. By 2024, annual savings are projected to reach 300,000 DKK, solidifying the robots as a smart, sustainable choice for Hørsholm Golf.
