Over the past few years, as part of our winter projects, we have reused dune sand from selected areas to support nearby construction works, reducing both material use and transport costs.
Once the required material had been extracted, these areas were carefully reshaped into sand scrapes.
These features have become attractive additions to the course, while also improving dune health. Fresh marram grass has re-established, and the areas are now supporting increased numbers of invertebrates and other wildlife.
