In March 2017, Elmwood Golf Course hosted a Resource Efficient Scotland open day, where the course manager spoke about the course's efforts to reduce resource use and its long-term goals of becoming a zero waste facility.
A year later, the course manager was invited to deliver another talk at a Resource Efficient Scotland Green Champion training day, tailored to the golf industry. The course manager described how a green team had been set up at Elmwood and explained the projects they had undertaken. Green Champion training delivered by Resource Efficient Scotland is included for all staff who work at the golf courses.
