自2015年起，成都观岭球会开始着手逐渐缩小需维护的草坪面积，措施之一是将非击球区域留作深草区。我们关闭了该区域的约300个灌溉喷头，任草坪自然生长逐渐演变为深草区。通过此举，球会需养护的草坪面积缩小了15万平方米左右，不单节约了养护所需的人力，同时，减少了水资源及化肥农药的消耗，也使得球场景观更具层次感。

Since 2015, we have been looking at reducing the maintained areas of turf. One of our practices is to let the area of turf not-in-play, become deep rough. We turned off around 300 irrigation sprinklers in these areas, to let the turf grow wild and gradually become deep rough. As a result, we reduced 15ha of maintained turf, saved man hours, the consumption of water, fertilizer and pesticides, all while enhancing the golf course landscape.
