Recycling wood to improve the course

Royal Colombo GC

During the recent construction of two new holes at the prestigious Royal Colombo Golf Club, upwards of twenty trees were removed to accommodate the new route and highlight a few of the magnificent trees (that were previously screened from view behind some of the less desirable ones).

All the trees that were cleared during this exercise were recycled to produce wooden benches (twenty-five in total and now positioned at all the tees areas where they have replaced the older more decrepit benches). Furthermore, these trees were recycled to create signage for the golf course and also used as material for the construction of a new bridge linking the 14th green with the 15th.
