Working with Natural England, we were able to restore some agricultural grassland to dune habitats by stripping topsoil. During this process we came across a Roman settlement and uncovered some ancient pottery. We got in touch with Dover Archaeological Society and invited them up to have a look. A pot that dated to 150AD and a drinking vessel were found. Since then the site has sparked some interest within the community and the club is delighted to help communicate this interesting historical site which dates back 2000 years.
