Sunningdale Golf Club recently hosted the PGA European Tour’s Careers in Golf Programme, an initiative designed to broaden access to the golf industry and promote greater diversity and inclusion.
The day began with an interactive workshop for 16–19-year-olds from underrepresented backgrounds, introducing participants to the wide range of career paths beyond playing, including coaching, event management, course operations, and business roles.
Supported by the Golf Forum, the programme seeks to challenge long-standing barriers and reshape perceptions of who can build a successful career in the sport. In the afternoon, students explored behind-the-scenes tournament operations, meeting industry professionals and gaining insight into how major events are delivered.
The event was both inspiring and informative, representing a proud moment for Sunningdale and a meaningful step toward a more inclusive future in golf.
