The Socotra cormorant, a migratory resident of the Arabian Gulf, is frequently observed in large numbers along the lake banks of Dubai Hills Golf Course. These birds, known for their ability to dive for food underwater for up to three minutes, gather in flocks numbering in the tens of thousands. Classified as a threatened species, their presence highlights the importance of conservation efforts.
We take pride in supporting the Socotra cormorant during their migratory periods by providing a safe refuge along their journey. By leveraging the water features across our course, we offer them an environment where they can thrive without the risk of predation.
