At Atlantic Beach, living alongside wildlife is more than a philosophy, it is part of who we are. Approximately 20 hectares of protected conservation areas form part of the estate, creating a vital ecological corridor linking the Blaauwberg and Koeberg Nature Reserves with the Greater Dassenberg Coastal Catchment Partnership.
These protected areas are home to the endangered Cape Flats Dune Strandveld and provide important habitat and movement corridors for a wide range of wildlife, including grysbok, springbok, tortoises, mongooses, cobras, the occasional elusive caracal, and a rich diversity of birdlife.
Our Human-Wildlife Coexistence Plan promotes safe, respectful, and harmonious interactions through education, awareness, and responsible environmental management. Wildlife is able to roam freely and undisturbed, while golf is played within a living conservation landscape where environmental stewardship is an integral part of the golfing experience. Even our tees are named after the wildlife that shares this remarkable environment.
Working in partnership with conservation specialists, including the City of Cape Town’s Biodiversity Branch, we monitor wildlife populations and protect valuable habitats. Together, we are ensuring that biodiversity, golf, and the local community continue to coexist and thrive at Atlantic Beach.
