Each year the Golf Club hosts a Play in Pink Day with all revenue raised going towards Irish Breast Cancer Research. The National Breast Cancer Research Institute is a national charity that funds a comprehensive research programme at the University of Galway led by Professor Michael Kerin.

In Ireland, 1 in 7 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. It’s the second most common cancer in women in Ireland after skin cancer and the most common cancer in women over 50. The role of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute is paramount, as its research can help to ascertain the causes and factors that influence breast cancer and therefore help to develop effective screening, treatments and medication to combat it.
