We are thrilled to share the exciting news that a small lizard discovered in Cyprus has been identified as unique to the island by researchers at the University of Cyprus. What's even more remarkable is that this exact species of lizard has been spotted at Aphrodite Hills Resort – captured on camera during the European Tour on our PGA National Cyprus Golf Course!
Known locally as 'Kοurkoutas', this lizard belongs to the distinct species Laudakia Cypriaca, found exclusively on the island. It now joins the ranks of Cyprus's unique biodiversity, alongside the Cypriot snake (Hierophis Cypriensis) and the Troodos lizard (Phoenicolacerta Troodica).
