In 2022, our club began the first of several stream restorations across the property. Since it's development in 1997, the surrounding areas of the club have grown exponentially, resulting in a tremendous increase in the amount of storm water runoff that runs through the streams on our property. This has resulted in the heavy erosion and downstream sedimentation of our creeks over the past 25 years.
The club has decided to implement concepts of Natural Stream Channel design to restore and stabilize these stream banks, coupled with the planting of native, deep rooting grasses along the flood plains. This also creates a great, undisturbed habitat for many of North Georgia's native wildlife species.
The first stream to be restored was completed in the Winter of 2022/2023 with the second stream restoration scheduled to take place in the Summer of 2025.
