Naturalisation and rationalisation of tee areas

Over the past couple of seasons, a deliberate effort has been made to allow meadow grasses to grow naturally around each hole. This initiative aims to reduce our maintenance carbon footprint, enhance the framing of the main playing areas, and contribute to soil moisture retention. It also fosters a thriving invertebrate population, which serves as a vital food source for birdlife, especially during the rearing of their young.

As part of our ongoing sustainability plan, we've made adjustments to several tees to minimise maintenance requirements and water usage. These modifications, carried out last winter, include:

• 2nd Tee: Reduced the depth of the tee box.
• 5th Tee: Relocated the green to the black tee, eliminating the redundant yellow tee at the bottom of the hill.
• 8th Tee: Removed the old Cob tee and relocated the ball washer closer to the green tee box.
• 11th Tee: Relocated the blue tee to the front of the red tee box.
• 13th Tee: Removed the blue tee and relocated the yellow tee while retaining the red tee.
• 14th Tee: Relocated the red tee to the yellow tee box, reducing teeing areas.
• 15th Tee: Moved the blue tee to the red tee.
• 16th Tee: Relocated the white tee to use the middle and lower boxes, reducing teeing areas.
