In the rough, sheep naturally graze on excess long grass, helping to keep it shorter and more manageable without the need for intensive mechanical intervention. Within the heathland areas, carefully managed grazing is essential for preserving heather, allowing it to thrive under optimal conditions.
In total, The Duke is home to 30 Kempisch Heath sheep, providing them with a beautiful environment in which to live and graze freely.
