Measure taken to deal with drought

The drought faced in our region in 2018 focused our efforts on water efficiency and communications.

During the height of the drought, strict water saving measures and awareness raising were undertaken.

Blow driers were installed in the locker rooms to minimize the use of towels which would require washing. Showers were made unavailable for use during the height of the drought, with waterless soap provided as an alternative.

The water pressure at the clubhouse was also reduced to minimize use. Cotton napkins in the clubhouse were replaced by paper serviettes to reduce washing requirements and save water. Table clothes were also removed.

Air conditioning units at the clubhouse were upgraded prior to the drought to reduce water use. Two evening information meetings were held with members to explain the implications and necessary water saving actions required by the club.
