LIV Chicago prioritized waste management, achieving impressive results by actively reducing waste and embracing circular solutions. A sorting team ensured the proper separation of waste streams, while 77% of event mesh was recycled into plastic trash bins. Furniture and hay bales were repurposed, with donations made to local communities, further extending their lifecycle. In addition, 125 lbs of film plastics were processed through TerraCycle, a global leader in recycling hard-to-recycle materials. TerraCycle specializes in turning waste into new products by collecting and repurposing items that are typically not accepted by traditional recycling programs, such as plastic film and packaging.

These efforts highlight LIV Chicago’s commitment to reducing waste, supporting circular economies, and showcasing the potential for sustainable practices at sporting events. By incorporating innovative waste management strategies and collaborating with organizations like TerraCycle, LIV Chicago sets a strong precedent for sustainable golf events.
