Kestrels (a small type of Falcon) can be seen in the surrounding areas. The longer grassland areas/rough of the Riverside Course at Portstewart form a good habitat for potential prey like small mammals, worms and beetles. A bird box is located close to a more open grassland area of the Riverside Course to encourage nesting of the Kestrel.
