Keeping green with Oranges

Quinta do Lago - Laranjal Course

Portugal

Written by: Mark Tupling

Laranjal roughly translates into Orange Grove or Orangery in English and that’s exactly what the designers had in mind when building the golf course.

Surrounded by farmland, the golf course pays homage by having 10 hectares of Orange Groves. We work with the neighbouring farmer to assist in the upkeep of the trees when applying plant protection products throughout the year and in return, they take what they need for their own supply.

The fruit is also used to supply the various food outlets in the Quinta do Lago estate and can be readily picked by golfers if they want a refreshing snack on the golf course.
