Involving staff in protecting bees

Launched in 2019, our CSR programme ‘Bee Aware – Bee Responsible’ is about protecting one of the most valuable members of the ecosystem, the bee, and highlighting the beneficial services it offers to the ecosystem and humans through the pollination process. Our own actions include planting 100 000 bee-friendly plants and local trees in the Natura 2000 area at Minthis, which contribute to increased pollination. Half of the plants have already been planted.

With the involvement of our staff, we will create bee hotels throughout the resort, a shelter to lay eggs which stimulates the population of ‘Solitary bees’, an important pollinator. We also actively participate and support the efforts of the Cyprus Beekeepers' Association and the Beekeeping Center – agencies supported by both the Ministry of Agriculture and the Office of the Environment Commissioner. Through the program, we are actively involved in achieving the UN Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
