Instead of purchasing new benches to replace broken ones, we've implemented a sustainable solution by repurposing old chairlift chairs. These chairs are modified and refurbished for use on the course, allowing us to contribute to the circular economy by reusing materials rather than disposing of them in landfills or allowing them to rust. Additionally, the chairlift chairs add a unique aesthetic value to the course.
We currently have three other chairs of this standard, which will be placed in the summer of 2024. Approximately 150 remaining chairs were auctioned off for charity to raise funds for local causes.
Furthermore, we've incorporated native flower beds around the tee distance signs. These plants serve as excellent pollen sources for pollinators and contribute to increasing the biodiversity of the surrounding habitats.
These initiatives seamlessly merge together, showcasing how repurposing and nurturing areas of the course can benefit both the environment and the local community.
