Our greenkeeping team has created a dedicated shelter for stoats - small, efficient predators that thrive in rocky crevices and feed primarily on moles and mice. This habitat was intentionally developed to attract a natural antagonist to rodent populations, allowing us to avoid the use of traps or chemical rodenticides.
The microstructure consists of a large pile of stones combined with a buffer zone that borders a pasture, providing the stoats with effective protection from aerial predators.
By integrating such ecological features into the course design, we are reinforcing our commitment to biodiversity and sustainable course management - showcasing how nature-based solutions can benefit both wildlife and turf maintenance.
